Tubular Breasts Correction

Tubular breasts are a congenital condition, which only becomes apparent during puberty when the breasts begin to develop. Breast hypoplasia (lack of full development),  affects the shape of the breasts because the breast tissue fails to develop either vertically or horizontally. The breasts can be narrow resembling a tuber of a plant hence the The nipples often point down (rather than out) which increases their saggy appearance. Patients with tubular breasts will have a wide cleavage, puffy nipple areola (the dark skin of the breast), and asymmetry is also common.

Currently, the only effective treatment for tubular breasts is corrective surgery. This can be performed in one or two stages, depending on your desired outcome. The one stage technique usually involves a breast augmentation using an implant, with further possible procedures to move the nipple and lift the breasts. You will notice an immediate improvement in the outline and contours of your breast with the consequent improvement in your confidence and self esteem.

The staged technique may involve tissues expansion using an inflatable breast implant, which is then replaced with a breast implant, and a breast uplift if required. Staged fat transfer is also a technique used to treat tubular breasts and involves 2 stages in the majority of patient depending on the desired effect. Fat transfer can also be used as an adjunct to breast implants, when the breasts are augmented.
