Chemical Peels
Chemical skin peels are a very popular non-surgical treatment with a range of benefits, whether you’re looking to rejuvenate tired and dull skin, or address a more serious skin condition on the face.
Chemical peels work by removing the outermost layers of your facial skin (which are damaged), to bring the healthy, new skin underneath to the surface. With peels, you can achieve a much smoother skin texture and a more even complexion.

How long does a chemical peel treatment take?
If you’re using the Nu-Derm System, you should see mild changes to your skin in one week, but visible improvements to the skin can be observed within 4-8 weeks. However, the treatment is in cycles of 6, 12 and 18 weeks. These depend how damaged your skin is and will discussed with you in clinic.
Application of the Obagi Blue Peel takes around 20-30 minutes. Cycles of peels may be warranted and this will be discussed with you in clinic at the initial consultation. A slight tingling sensation may be felt that should last one to two minutes, but your surgeons will use fanning to minimise any discomfort.
What are the risks associated with chemical peels?
The Obagi Blue Peel is designed to accelerate the removal of old, dead skin cells at the skin’s outer surface to promote new cell growth and accelerate rejuvenation. As with any skin peel, it does come with its inherent risks, but these will be discussed with you in depth during your initial consultation at the New Image Clinic.
How much do chemical skin peels cost?
This depends on what type of treatment and peel that you require. The price will be tailored for each patient and will be discussed at the initial consultation.
What happens during the initial consultation at New Image Clinic?
At your initial consultation, you will meet with our leading plastic surgeons: Mr Ali Juma and Mr Jamil Hayek. Together, they will assess your skin and determine if a strict skin regimen, or a chemical peel is the right treatment for you. You will have the opportunity to ask any questions or raise any concerns that you may have regarding this treatment.
What is the recovery process?
With the Obagi Blue Peel, you can expect to see some redness and swelling within the first 12 hours post-treatment, and facial peeling should start to occur after the first 2-3 days. Peeling typically will last 4-5 days, and your recovery process will be assessed in full at your follow up consultation.
Why choose the New Image Clinic?
Both Mr Ali Juma and Mr Jamil Hayek are highly experienced and well qualified plastic surgeons, with many years’ practice administering non-surgical treatments. At the New Image Clinic, you have the benefit of these two surgeons working together to achieve the best possible results for their patients.
