At New Image Clinic, our expert surgeons are often inundated with questions from patients regarding their surgeries and treatments, and rightly so. Choosing to cosmetically enhance your body in these ways is a very important decision, and one that should never be taken lightly. We encourage all of our patients to take their time to think before coming to a decision, taking advantage of our surgeons dual expertise to ask any questions that you might have and talk openly about any concerns that you may have prior to surgery. We’re here to put your mind at ease and reassure you that your care is in the most capable of hands. Below are just a few of the common Plastic Surgery FAQs and questions we get asked about some of our most popular treatments:
Breast Augmentation – Which type of breast implant is best for me?
We can’t count how many patients ask us this when considering a breast enhancement, and it’s certainly a good question to ask. At New Image Clinic, we use the best breast implants on the market, as in our opinion at New Image Clinic quality will always prevail. During the consultation process, we will thoroughly assess your wants and needs from your surgery, taking into consideration your figure and the size and shape of your natural breasts. As with any surgery, there are risks involved, with the potential for your implants to leak, although this is extremely rare with our expert team. Many women consider silicone implants to look and feel more natural, as opposed to other implants like for example saline implants. Your implants can also be inserted behind the breast tissue or behind the muscle against the chest wall. Again, this depends on you as a patient, your body type and the results you desire. Any final decisions are made by you with the professional team at New Image Clinic advising you.
Tummy Tuck – Is this type of surgery suitable for me?
As you may be aware, abdominoplasty is a popular cosmetic procedure, which involves tightening the abdominal muscles, with removal of excess skin and fat around the abdomen, followed by closing any surgical incisions. It is ideal for patients who have experienced dramatic and rapid weight loss, and women who have recently been through pregnancy. This is because these instances can leave your skin rather stretched and saggy, which is a common cause of embarrassment for a lot of patients.
What needs to be remembered is that this type of surgical procedure isn’t a suitable alternative to weight loss and is best performed once you have reached your optimum weight. Further weight loss or gain could cause the skin to again sag or stretch, however we can combine a tummy tuck with liposuction of the flanks to achieve optimum results in a select group of patients. It should also be noted that if you are a woman and are planning to have more children, you should wait until after to have a tummy tuck. Any tummy tuck candidate needs to be in good health both mentally and physically.
Facelift – Are there any risks or complications involved?
Sure enough, you’ll likely have heard stories in media about facelifts that have gone wrong or been “botched”, leaving patients with a “frozen”, permanently overstretched appearance to the face. However, at New Image Clinic the we practice utilise the advancement in modern plastic surgery to achieve highly effective, natural-looking results through less invasive methodologies and more intricate techniques. Whereas the idea was once to pull the skin back to remove any excess and close the remaining surgical incisions, now we take the time to carefully tighten and lift underlying layer covering the muscles, (SMAS) for a naturally-volumised, youthful appearance.
With that said, no surgery is without its risks and complications, such as scarring and infection. Mr Ali Juma and Mr Jamil Hayek take every precaution possible to ensure your health and safety every step of the way, offering the highest quality results. All benefits, scars, recovery period, potential risks and complications will be discussed in depth during your consultation so that you can make an informed decision about your procedure.
Hopefully some of your questions have now been answered, but there are always so many more that need asking! Some of the questions above more than apply to multiple plastic surgeries, and those that we offer can be found on our website along with some FAQs. Should you have any further questions, ease your concerns and get in touch via our contact details, and don’t hesitate to open up to your surgeons during your consultation. That’s what we’re here for!
